I find myself spending tedious hours shopping for a new used car.
What else could you shop for? Try any of these out and see where your characters go:
New used straw figurines
Old holy cards from funerals
New “antiqued” Chinese figurines
Roll down car windows
Candles that have lost their scent
Yellow diamonds

I saw this topic on a Weather.com website page. See what you can do with it.
“How much snow left this season?” It struck me as an interesting topic to ponder in our writerly omniscient way.

When was the last time you were really sorry and had to made amends to someone? There is joy and sorrow in truly admitting your fault and sincerely wanting to repair the damage. Write about your experience, or absorb your experience into the story of one of your characters. You can write a poem too — maybe a sequential poem in sections of what happened, the restitution, and what it’s like now. Is you side of the street still clean? Look up the word amend in the dictionary. If you were a believer, you might pray before writing today.

Tip: If you are stuck in mid-draft, try changing the point of view for a few paragraphs to see if that moves things along. Like, the cat, or the neighbor, or the mailbox.
