Writing Prompt November 8, 2010

Sometimes you just have to walk.
When? (time of day? mood?)
Where? (scenery? sensory input? city? town? street? mountain? Why? (to work? to meditate? to cool off after a fight?)
How fast? (saunter? stroll? stomp?)
Do you have company? (lover, friend? co-worker? dogs?)
What else? Walk it out.

Writing Prompt November 7, 2010

This is an actual horoscope that belongs to a friend of yours. Who are you in relation to this person, and what actions or things do you do or say (or not do or say) that the person for whom this horoscope belongs might interpret as significant in their outlook? Start working on that story today.

“Although you may feel quite energetic as the Moon joins feisty Mars in your sign, you might also sense an incoming wave of uncertainty as signals from your subconscious mind flow into awareness. You could try to ignore your current feelings, but they are too distracting. Even if you don’t know where these currents are taking you, it’s futile to fight against them. Save your energy for the specific issues that could arise instead of simply shadow boxing with your own fears.”

Ran into this quote this morning. What do you think? Describe a time when it has been true in your life, or in someone else’s life…..

“All men’s miseries derive from not being able to sit quiet in a room alone.” Blaise Pascal

The Writing Center would also like to remind you that today begins the National Novel Writing Month. Here is a link to a comprehensive website on the project. http://www.nanowrimo.org/

Also, here is a link to an interesting Word Counting Site, called 750 Words. Several of our fans on Facebook find it useful. http://750words.com/
